After weeks of other maintenance, I’ve finally added a couple of new drone models, which will be selectable when starting a new game in the upcoming demo.
The Workhorse is the drone you’ve been flying until now. It comes standard with a decent amount of shielding and forward speed. Most usefully, it comes fitted with an extremely high-powered orb magnet, which will draw the Magic Space Woo-Woo orbs to you from as far away as you can see.
As the name suggests, the Dart is a fast-moving drone, with triple-rate weapon firing. While it may lack much shielding, you should be able to outrun most enemy projectiles without much trouble.
If you’re interested in a slower-paced flying experience, the Descent offers a model with no forward engine, but with a capable set of maneuvering thrusters and an extremely powerful shielding system. It also includes a burst fire cannon, which should make quick work of both the crystals and the enemy.
I’ve still got a lot planned for the near future, but I’m going to spend next week polishing up these new features so I can release a new demo for April. See you then!
